Club Facilities

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
The cost of individual aircraft ownership is somewhat prohibitive to many people. There are a number of pilots and aviation enthusiasts in my immediate area that wish to fly but can't always afford the high cost of renting. Also, the availability of rental aircraft is limited. Our local airport has a great FBO and a very active EAA chapter that would be terrific assets to a flying club as well as a feeder for members.

    Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
We have a good FBO with two large hangars; one for repair/storage and one for storage only. I also own a 30x40 hangar but don't have an airplane. The local EAA chapter 614 has a nice clubhouse on site and hosts monthly meetings, a monthly pancake breakfast, and two annual fly-ins.

Progress made towards starting the club:
No actual legal progress has been made. I have only begun to attract interest in the idea among my friends, many who are new or student pilots.
