Club Facilities

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
To provide local pilots with the progression to an aircraft with better cross-country performance then the current trainers available from the resident FBOs training aircraft. Southeastern Arizona pilots currently do not have access to rental complex or higher performance aircraft that provide a quality cross-country experience. FBOs are not providing anything more than fixed gear Cessna 150s and Piper/Cessna 150/160/180 hp fixed gear aircraft, mostly due to insurance requirements and costs.

    Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
Currently Benson E-95 has 24 enclosed hangers available (12 Ts and 12 full hangers capable of housing 2 to 3 aircraft). Another block of hangers is in the negotiation process. We would initially be looking for a shared hanger arrangement that would double as parking and meeting facility. The airport holds a fly-in breakfast on the 3rd Saturday of each month we should be able to co-host with personnel and financial help. Club meetings could be held concurrent with the breakfast each month.

Progress made towards starting the club:
Secured leaseback access to a ground up rebuilt (20110) Cessna 172 RG from the aircraft owner.
