Club Facilities

    Description

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
I reside in Naples, Fl where I serve as a Lt. Col in the CAP and a board member of the Friends of Naples Airport. The current and only flying club locally membership is sold out with a waiting list for new qualified members to join, therefore there is adequate demand and short supply. I have a great deal of interest in starting a Light Sport Flying club with a high wing and low wing aircraft.I ama an experienced business executive and served as the Director Of Operations for CAP Southeast Region controlling 80 aircraft.I therefore have the management experience and aircraft maintenance management.

    Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
We will be renting an enclosed hurricane rated hangar on KAPF supplied by the Airport Authority. The Airport supplies at no cost a building deemed the Pilots Lounge at no cost for meetings, Safety lectures, Pancake Breakfasts, etc. The free facility is wonderful, amply available, clean and functional. We have free WiFi on the field and we will have a computer in the hanger for weather and flight planning. I will donate the computer and printer. We obviously have a Board of Directors and Officers.

Progress made towards starting the club:
The hanger are available, the airport is controlled and we have a free club house. I have researched club membership on the AOPA website and I have had five preliminary meetings with prospective members. We have a gentleman that wishes to consider putting his Cessna 172 in as a starter and we are working on the details now. I have attended SunNFun and Sebring shopping the LSA market. We would appreciate your consideration and assistance in getting our project off the ground, Thank You!
