    Description

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
The economy is my driving force, and secondarily as a huge bonus is the across the board social & educational aspect of sharing aviation wisdom and humor with other like minded enthusiasts.

General Aviation is in a tailslide and I sincerely believe local Flying Clubs are the only solution for recovery in this very uncertain economy. I have discussed my agenda of why and how with local pilots and are on the exact same Frequency.

My home base is KCOI, Merritt Island airport just south of the Kennedy Space Center Skid Strip.

There are two FBO's , the south side has PanAm, formally Space Coast Aviation which is a global flight training ops & could care less about local business.

The north side is Voyager Aviation, with old expensive aircraft and a bad attitude for renters.

I truly believe that KCOI would be a haven for a flying club environment and would evolve into a huge success by getting economy grounded pilots back into the left seat ....

    Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
Hangers at KCOI have a 10 year waiting list - we do have access to a sub lease hanger which we used for our Arrow until last Aug when the Arrow was sold. There are many tie downs available on the north side where we will be positioned.

Progress made towards starting the club:
I have discussed acquisition of club aircraft with several owners who can barely afford to fly them and are very interested in club involvement with their flying machines. To date they include at least (3) 172's (1) 210 (1) Liberty (1) Cherokee 180 (1) Turbo Arrow
