Club Facilities

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
    1. Flight schools & other clubs are "nickel-and-diming" their members. I want the club to be simple and affordable. I don't want members to feel like they are being "sold" something.
    2. Other clubs/schools lack real airplanes that can do what most pilots want to do: go fast & far. Although training will be a key aspect, I don't want just training airplanes in the club. It's my goal to get high-performance, complex & multi-engine plans as part of the fleet, too.
    3. Training is too "curriculum" based. Pilots need to be taught from other pilots with real-world experience, in a practical setting. This flying club will focus on a practical, fun approach that will make pilots more confident in real-world scenarios by providing specialized post-certificate training, and will integrate cross-countries as much as practical when working toward a member's ratings.

    Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
Airplane would most likely be on a tiedown unless existing owner has a hangar & is willing to provide access. Facilities are good - w/an executive terminal that has a restaurant & lounge space. I believe there may be office space for rent, but that would be done later when there are enough members to support a rent payment! Ultimately the club will have it's own social place on the airport.

Progress made towards starting the club:
Currently searching for potential board members - found 1 other interested in devoting time.

Have several names of aircraft owners for potential leasebacks & will be calling them over the next couple of months.

Site selection would ideally be KHND, but KVGT would do if an aircraft owner were based there w/an airplane. Airports are relatively close, so they could be based at either airport. Office/HQ would be @ KHND.
