Club Facilities

Shen Air II is a small flying club based at the Shenandoah Valley Regional Airport (KSHD). KSHD is about 20 minutes by car from Harrisonburg and Waynesboro, and under an hour from Charlottesville. The club owns two aircraft, a Piper Archer and a Cherokee 6. Both airplanes are equipped with Garmin GTN 650 touchscreen approach certified GPS units and are hangared at KSHD. If you are interested in joining, please contact us to inquire about the availability of shares.

Shen Air II bylaws limit club membership to 15 people. As of January 2013, members pay monthly dues of $200, all of which is applied as flying credit. Rates are $66/hour for the Archer and $100/hour for the Cherokee 6, both wet. Special assessments are made as needed to cover fixed costs and maintenance. The club does not maintain large cash reserves - we pay as we go. Planes are reserved through an online calendar. Please contact us if you are interested in joining.

The Archer II has 180hp, a fixed pitch propeller, a Garmin GTN 650 moving map WAAS GPS, and is IFR certified.

The Cherokee 6 has 300hp and a variable pitch propeller. It is equipped with a Garmin GTN 650 touchscreen WAAS GPS and is IFR certified.
