Club Facilities

Why I'm interested in starting a club:
To help reduce the economics of flying, and build an environment that would encourage pilots to return to the airport for the social aspect that used to be prevalent at many airports.

    Description of the hangar/clubhouse facilities:
There are several possible locations where the club could have a clubhouse, including the upstairs of a building owned by one of the local FBO's. It has access outside of the fenced in perimeter of the airport making for easy access to individuals who did not have "gate" access. I have a hangar that is inside the secure area, and next to it is a separate storage unit with a traditional door, and garage style door that might be available for club activities. If that area was available, that might serve as a place where a project or experimental aircraft might be work upon to add to the fleet.

Progress made towards starting the club:
I have talked to several pilots on the airport, and to the owner of the flight school. There seems to be a definite need and interest for flying opportunities, especially of tail wheel aircraft. The idea would be to start with one such airplane, get 10-15 members interested and then expand from there.
