Club Facilities

Description

We are a social flying club located at X59, Valkaria Florida, which is 10 miles south of Melbourne International Airport, in the Space Coast region of central Florida.

This club is the dream of Frank Gallagher. Frank, a professional pilot and flight instructor, is dismayed by the number of pilots who get their Private Pilot license, and then within a year, leave flying. He realized that after the thrill of obtaining the license has passed, pilots get bored with flying for the $100 hamburger. Using the yacht clubs as a model, whose membership only includes 10% boat owners, Frank realized that pilots were lacking the social aspects of flying.

Our club concept is unique. Aero Club Valkaria is a business, incorporated as Aero Valkaria, LLC in the State of Florida. Members pay an annual fee, and then an hourly fee for aircraft usage. Members pay their own gas. There are no monthly dues, or aircraft ownership involved. The annual fee covers the fixed costs and the hourly fee covers the operating costs of the aircraft. Rates are adjusted on an annual basis. There are currently five aircraft available for club members, a Cessna 172, a Cessna 182, a Piper Cherokee PA-28-180, a Piper PA-12, and a Light Sport Aircraft Paradise P-1. The Piper Cherokee PA-28-180 is being used by our sister club, which is located in Hartford, CT (KHFD), Aircraft chosen for the club are based on low operating costs, low fuel consumption, safety, and fun factor.

Aero Valkaria LLC also performs aircraft maintenance and has the facilities at X59 to address all aspects of General Aviation aircraft maintenance. Our expertise and rates are the most attractive in the area.

Flight instruction is also available to both club and non club members, for all ratings from the Light Sport to the Airline Transport Rating, airplane and helicopter, including Certified Flight Instructor-airplane and helicopter,
