We are working to restore your saved flight plans from the old system. We expect this to be done soon. When they are restored, they will appear under tab labeled “History.” This tab is currently labeled “Recent” and is located next to the “Create/Edit” tab. The plans from AIFP will appear in a list labeled “Favorites.”

Pilot and aircraft data will need to be re-entered in FlyQ Web. We were unable to import this information from the old flight planner. Further, FlyQ Web needs to understand your speed and fuel burn in Climb, Cruise, and Descent to better calculate your fuel and time en route.
All auto-routing will include any waypoints you manually input into the waypoint fields, and augment with other waypoints as appropriate. The choices for auto-routing are:
GPS Direct routing will occasionally add waypoints to avoid major bodies of water such as an ocean, the Gulf of Mexico, or one of the Great Lakes. If necessary, it also will add waypoints to avoid terrain in mountainous regions.
You can remove these waypoints by clicking on the point and then clicking the Remove button in the information window. Alternatively, you can remove the point by clicking the “X” in the gray circle next to the waypoint in the stacked route waypoint list.
When selected, FlyQ Web will choose the route and altitude that will minimize headwinds or maximize tail winds for your flight based on the winds that are forecast for the time of your flight.
If you selected to “Optimize for Wind” when you created your plan, the tool is going to make its best effort to give you the shortest flight time, which may not always be the most direct/shortest distance. You can always drag your flight plan line back onto the airway/route you’d prefer to take if you disagree with the auto-generated option. We have seen occasional routes that are not optimal. This is a bug that we are working to diagnose and fix.
An FAA DUAT System provider is not required by FlyQ Web to set up a new pilot profile; however, you will not be able to retrieve a weather brief or file a flight plan through FlyQ Web until valid credentials from either DTC DUAT or CSC DUATS are saved on a pilot profile. You can update your credentials at any time by editing your pilot profile in “Settings.” If you do not have credentials with either provider, you can create free accounts through their websites. You can also reset or retrieve your credentials here as well.

Currently, the only changes a user can make once a flight plan has been created/loaded are the plan name, waypoints (adding, reordering, removing), and take off time. FlyQ Web requires that the user create a new flight plan to make any edits to the other critical information (e.g. change the aircraft, select a different altitude, select different auto-routing, etc.).
We are working to expand the ability to edit routes once they have been created. Soon, you will be able to change pilot and aircraft, change plan type (VFR/ IFR), turn optimize for wind on/off; update number on board, and change the altitude on each leg of your flight.
Max Altitude: This defines the highest altitude you are willing to fly when using the auto-router. If the altitude is higher than your aircraft’ service ceiling (as set in your aircraft profile), FlyQ Web will not route above your aircraft's maximum altitude. If you set Max Altitude lower than the ceiling in the aircraft profile, it will not route above the Max Altitude. This field is measured in msl.
Min Altitude: This establishes the minimum ground clearance altitude(agl)that you want the auto-router to use.
Min Cruise: Designed for turbine aircraft efficiency. This is the minimum altitude (msl) that you want the auto-router to select. Leave blank if this doesn’t apply to you.
Desired Cruise: If you uncheck Optimize for Winds, you can select your desired cruise altitude. The tool will route at or near this altitude while choosing the appropriate VFR or IFR cruising altitudes.
This feature does not currently exist in FlyQ Web. This is a feature that we hope to add to FlyQ Web in the future.
We are working to restore the Nav Log to the same form as AIFP. This should launch soon.
