In an effort to help pilots comply with existing flight restrictions, AOPA is advising members that TFRs will be in place January 1, 2, and 3 for the Tournament of Roses Parade and Rose Bowl game in Pasadena, California. The TFR protecting the parade route is 3 miles in radius, centered at a point 19.5 miles off of the LAX VOR 035 radial. The altitudes and effective times are as follows:

| January 1, 2002 | 8:16 a.m.-2 p.m. (PST) | Surface-3,000 feet agl |
Similar restrictions will be in place to protect the stadium during pregame and game-time events. These will also be 3 miles in radius, but will be centered at a point 19 nautical miles on the LAX 029 radial, and are effective during the following times:

| January 3, 2002 | 2 p.m.-5:30 p.m. (PST) | Surface-5,000 feet agl |
| January 3, 2002 | 5:31 p.m.-11 p.m. (PST) | Surface-3,000 feet agl |
Flight operations are authorized for only those aircraft directly involved in the activities of all Tournament of Roses events and the Rose Bowl football game such as law enforcement, public safety, and the scheduled aerial demonstration aircraft.

- Use LEFT traffic around the parade route and stadium. Monitor 123.025 and announce intentions.
