ASF's first 'Top Corporate Partner for GA Safety' to be honored

The AOPA Air Safety Foundation's first annual black-tie Partnering with Corporate America award dinner will honor Donald S. Freeman, Jr., chairman and CEO of The Freeman Companies.

The fund-raising event for the foundation's work in general aviation safety will be held Wednesday, March 14, at the Hotel Adolphus in Dallas, Texas. Individual tickets for the event are $250, with an option for an eight-person table. Of the ticket price, $150 may be tax deductible as a contribution to the AOPA Air Safety Foundation.

Freeman, 62, was named the nation's top corporate partner in general aviation safety for 2001 by the foundation, based on his leadership in use of GA in the corporate environment. Since assuming leadership of The Freeman Companies in 1973, Freeman has used personally flown general aviation aircraft for business purposes. The Freeman Companies now comprise six companies that provide services for expositions, conventions, corporate events, and exhibit programs. They employ more than 30,000 full- and part-time workers and last year produced 3,700 trade shows and more than 11,000 other events.

Sponsorships available for the event range from $15,000 for a Dinner Sponsorship to $3,000 for a Dinner Wine Sponsorship.
