AOPA Pilot Information Center
AOPA members enjoy free access to general aviation's most comprehensive knowledge base via our 800 number, where members can determine the right price for a prospective aircraft purchase, compare performance characteristics of low-cost avionics, or talk to an aviation expert about any flight operations or aircraft ownership issues.
AOPA members enjoy the following benefits:

John L. Baker Aviation Library. AOPA's John L. Baker Aviation Library houses more than 10,000 volumes of technical, research, and training materials in the area of general aviation. The library is open to AOPA members and the general public between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. weekdays.

The AOPA Aircraft Financing Program, underwritten by MBNA, helps you with your aircraft financing needs. With loans from $10,000 to $5 million and a variety of rate and fee options, the program can customize a loan to suit most needs. Loans are offered for purchase, refinance, or upgrades and are available for many types of new and used aircraft. Long repayment terms reduce monthly payments.
The easy application process allows customers to apply by telephone or online, and an underwriter may be able to prequalify applicants in minutes. The AOPA Aircraft Financing Program is the only aircraft loan program endorsed by AOPA. AOPA and MBNA have partnered for more than 20 years to provide financial services to AOPA members. When you finance $20,000 or more, MBNA will pay your AOPA basic membership dues for the life of your loan.
Call 800/627-5263 or visit the Web site ( www.aopa.org/info/aircraftfinancing/).
The AOPA Aircraft Valuation Service (powered by Vref) is a good starting point when determining the general retail value of an airplane. In a step-by-step online process through a particular aircraft's make, model, age, modifications, and add-ons, Vref helps you evaluate the viability of a purchase. While not intended as a detailed appraisal, Vref can give you a starting point when you consider purchasing an aircraft.
To perform an aircraft valuation or to learn more about Vref, visit the Web site ( www.aopa.org/members/vref/).

The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) welcomed a Sept. 18 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announcement that it would host a “call to action summit” to address the barriers and potential challenges associated with equipping tens of thousands of aircraft for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) by the Jan. 1, 2020 deadline. ADS-B is a critical component of the NextGen air traffic modernization program.
