Air Force proposes temporary MOA in Alaska

By AOPA ePublishing staff

Do you fly in the Delta Junction area? The Air Force is seeking comments on its proposal to once again establish the Delta Temporary Military Operations Area (TMOA). It would be in effect four times a year for training events that will include fighter, bomber, and cargo aircraft operations.

The TMOAs would negatively impact IFR airway V444, which general aviation pilots use to fly from Canada into Fairbanks and northern Alaska. AOPA believes the airspace should be designed to keep the airway open and not limit GA access. AOPA will be proposing alternatives before the Dec. 13 comment deadline.

Download the proposal for more information and to submit you comments.
