AIG Aviation Inc., as the aviation underwriter for the member companies of American International Group Inc., is recognizing the improving general aviation safety record by offering significant rate reductions on a large number of GA aircraft types.
“An improved accident picture allows us to offer lower rates on many GA aircraft,” said Carson Lyons, assistant vice president for AIG Aviation. “And those aircraft where we’ve seen the best experience will see the greatest reductions in rate.”
Lyons noted that while not all aircraft will see rate reductions and certain state restrictions may apply, many GA piston aircraft owners could see savings.

A sophisticated welding process used to build Eclipse twin jets extends the airframe life, and the FAA has now approved longer limits.

Aircraft sellers can benefit from tips and AOPA resources to ensure the process goes smoothly.

Cars depreciate dramatically as they are driven off the dealer's lot and house values drop with the economy, but aircraft historically have not only kept their value, they sometimes exceeded it.
