Excitement for the first AOPA Aviation Summit, Nov. 5 through 7, in Tampa, Fla. continues to grow. And with reduced package rates and family-friendly events, it’s a must-see event for the whole family!
Your first day of Summit, Thursday, Nov. 5, will include a Meet and Mingle, which gives you the chance to mingle with fellow pilots and exhibitors in a relaxed atmosphere on the aviation show floor. Enjoy center stage attractions, hors d’oeuvres, and cash bars. The event is free of charge when you purchase either a three-day package or a Thursday Forums and Exhibits pass.
Friday, Nov. 6, features two can’t-miss events. The first is a sit-down luncheon that offers the perfect mid-Summit opportunity to pause and catch up and network with fellow aviation enthusiasts while AOPA hosts keynote speakers who are of interest to current members and future pilots.
The second event will take place Friday evening when AOPA offers A Night at the Aquarium. Bring your friends and family to one of the finest aquariums on the East Coast. AOPA is providing you with special pricing that includes a buffet meal and special entertainment. The Florida Aquarium will only be open for our paid attendees, who will also have access to special interactive exhibits for people of all ages. This event offers exceptional value with a new low price.
Join us on Saturday, Nov. 7, for Dinner on the Riverwalk, when AOPA will celebrate its seventieth anniversary and look to the future. The ticket price includes dinner and entertainment in a unique setting along the Hillsborough River in Tampa.
These entertaining events are sure to create lasting memories for both you and your family. Registration will open June 29--be sure to register early to get discounted package pricing.
As the cold weather chills AOPA’s Headquarters in Frederick, many of us are inside generating new resources for flying clubs.
In my house, every Friday night is “Movie Night.” While the movies are rarely educational (I don’t think I learned anything from the Lego Movie), we look forward to the weekly opportunity to spend time together. Why not use the same concept for your Flying Club (with the addition of education, of course)?
AOPA Flying Club Manager Kelby Ferwerda posted the following on the AOPA Flying Club Facebook Page: “Recently I’ve talked with quite a few Flying Clubs about maintaining social activity through the cold winter months. Some clubs host Holliday Parties, others have Potluck Movie Nights. What does your club do to keep members involved during the chilly months?”
