WxWorx, booth 731 in the AOPA Aviation Summit exhibition hall, is making a special show offer. Call WxWorx by the end of November, and sign up to have the $75 activation fee waived on your new XM WX datalink weather service.
What’s more, said WxWorx Director of Aviation Services Glen Gray, the first month’s subscription fee of $50 is also waived. These fee waivers are for the “Aviator” data package, which is the middle-tier product in the WX WX product line.
Oh, and Gray called up the Tampa weather on his flat-screen display. Today’s surface weather features winds of 010 at 16 knots and a 20,000-foot overcast. Even better: There’s no rain in the Tampa forecast for the next five days.
As the cold weather chills AOPA’s Headquarters in Frederick, many of us are inside generating new resources for flying clubs.
In my house, every Friday night is “Movie Night.” While the movies are rarely educational (I don’t think I learned anything from the Lego Movie), we look forward to the weekly opportunity to spend time together. Why not use the same concept for your Flying Club (with the addition of education, of course)?
AOPA Flying Club Manager Kelby Ferwerda posted the following on the AOPA Flying Club Facebook Page: “Recently I’ve talked with quite a few Flying Clubs about maintaining social activity through the cold winter months. Some clubs host Holliday Parties, others have Potluck Movie Nights. What does your club do to keep members involved during the chilly months?”
