Sunset over Ontario is the tranquil setting for the dawn of a new entry into the very light jet market, as you’ll see when you get your first look at the Diamond D-JET in our online video. Climb into the cockpit with Editor at Large Tom Horne, who was the very first aviation journalist to fly not only the D-JET, but any single-engine personal jet. Horne had to wear a parachute—this was considered a test aircraft, after all—but you won’t need one to enjoy our air-to-air footage.

What is it about biplanes that catches nearly every pilot’s fancy? We love them, and so do the people who made their way to the annual Biplane Expo in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Nearly 100 biplanes from around the country made their final trek in June to this genial gathering of classic and antique aircraft, whose organizers brought down the curtain on the event this year. Throw on your goggles and silk scarf and take a flight in a highly modified Stearman in this online video.

If you’ve flown to Oshkosh, you know the drill: Read the notam, keep your head on a swivel, and for goodness sake be sure you’re on top of your crosswind landing techniques. If you’ve never flown into the world’s biggest airshow, here’s your chance to do just that in this online video. Ride along with Senior Editor Dave Hirschman and see for yourself how the advanced technology in the Let’s Go Flying Sweepstakes SR22 makes a lengthy cross-country over two Great Lakes doable.

AOPA’s Aviation Summit takes place in Tampa November 5 through 7 and the city is opening its arms to welcome AOPA members, aviation industry leaders, and any one who knows what it’s like to look up in wonder at the miracle that is aviation. In addition to AOPA’s usual wealth of aviation knowledge through seminars and speakers, Aviation Summit has offerings never before seen at an aviation convention.
