The first of Cessna’s Citation CJ4s is now in a lucky (unnamed) customer’s possession. The delivery comes less than a month after the airplane was certified. The owner took advantage of a new, proprietary program offered by Cessna—GreenTrak.
GreenTrak is flight planning software that uses cost indexing to minimize total trip cost by balancing direct operating costs, fuel burn, and carbon emissions.
The CJ4 is a six- to seven seat, 453-knot, 2,000-nm twinjet powered by 3,621-lbst Williams FJ-44-4A engines. It’s equipped with a four-screen Collins Pro Line 21 avionics suite, Collins’ new “Venue” cabin entertainment system, dual Mode S transponders, TCAS II, Class A TAWS, weather radar, and datalink weather.
The airplane sells for $9 million and is certified for single-pilot operations. Pilots type rated to fly the Citations CJ1+, CJ2+, and CJ3 can step up to flying the CJ4 single-pilot by taking a course that focuses on the procedural differences between the CJ4 and the other CJs in the series.
