Pilots and aircraft owners can now negotiate the price of fuel directly with FBOs via a new service called Wavepilot.
Here’s how it works: Pilots and aircraft owners go to the Web site and pay a small fee to create a request for a quote. FBOs then review the quotes and offer their best price for fuel. The company describes it as eBay, except instead of buyers competing for the item, it’s the seller who competes.
“Aircraft operators want the absolute best prices possible, and FBOs want to capitalize on every sales opportunity. Wavepilot brings them together in a powerful new way that achieves both goals,” says founder Alex Fisher.
The service also allows operators and FBOs to communicate via private message to connect on issues such as fees, availability of services, and anything else the operator may need.
Prices start at $3.50 for those who operate aircraft that are less than 6,000 pounds max gross weight.
