As you make plans for attending AOPA Aviation Summit in Hartford, Conn., from Thursday, Sept. 22, to Saturday, Sept. 24, keep in mind that you can save money if you plan and book at official AOPA hotels.
When you stay at an official AOPA hotel, you are guaranteed to receive the lowest rates during that week, and if the hotel is overbooked during the time of your stay, your reservation is always secure. In addition, staying at one of the 10 official AOPA hotels provides you, your guest, and your family with a great networking experience.
For this year’s show, AOPA selected a range of hotels, from locations near Brainard and Bradley International to others adjacent to or within walking distance to the Connecticut Convention Center.
In addition, all attendees who use their AOPA credit card at the following hotels will receive double points for their purchases while there: Crowne Plaza, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hartford Plaza Hotel, Hartford Windsor Marriott, Hilton Downtown, Hilton Garden Inn-Bradley Airport, Holiday Inn Express (Brainard Airport), and Homewood Suites.
Book through the official AOPA Summit Housing organization at any of the following hotels and you’ll be eligible for a drawing from the hotel. The drawing ranges from a gift credit card to priority points from that hotel. Participating hotels are Crowne Plaza, Hampton Inn & Suites, Hartford Plaza Hotel, Hartford Windsor Marriott, Hilton Downtown, Hilton Garden Inn-Bradley Airport, Holiday Inn Express (Brainard Airport), and Marriott Downtown. The lucky guest selected from each hotel will be notified by AOPA during the show. Book now!
As the cold weather chills AOPA’s Headquarters in Frederick, many of us are inside generating new resources for flying clubs.
In my house, every Friday night is “Movie Night.” While the movies are rarely educational (I don’t think I learned anything from the Lego Movie), we look forward to the weekly opportunity to spend time together. Why not use the same concept for your Flying Club (with the addition of education, of course)?
AOPA Flying Club Manager Kelby Ferwerda posted the following on the AOPA Flying Club Facebook Page: “Recently I’ve talked with quite a few Flying Clubs about maintaining social activity through the cold winter months. Some clubs host Holliday Parties, others have Potluck Movie Nights. What does your club do to keep members involved during the chilly months?”
