Oshkosh bound? Put a visit to AOPA’s white tent on your must-do list. Check out the AOPA merchandise available at AOPA’s Tent at EAA AirVenture, located west of Hangar C. You’ve seen the AOPA products online and in the pages of AOPA Pilot—now you can see them in person.
It may be hot now, but cooler days are ahead, perfect for AOPA’s wind shirt. What’s a wind shirt? It’s a lightweight shirt, which is wind and water resistant. The shirt’s polyester shell allows 100 percent range of motion while the 100 percent nylon lining provides protection from the elements. It comes in khaki and navy—with sizes up to XXL.
Further prepare for fall weather with AOPA’s Leading Edge Jacket. This jacket features a durable wind- and water-resistant exterior and a warm fleece interior, but remains lightweight and breathable. Of course, like all AOPA merchandise, you can show off the AOPA logo.
Every AirVenture attendee needs an airshow hat, and you can pick one up for yourself at the AOPA tent. The hat is made from natural, breathable fibers that protect you from the sun while it allows air to circulate. Available in two sizes, this is the hat you need.
And then there are T-shirts: AOPA offers a long sleeve shirt which proudly declares “Flying is Freedom” and a short sleeve shirt with the AOPA logo. Both are ideal souvenirs to bring home from AirVenture. Both shirts are available up to sizes XXL.
If you’ve eyed the AOPA Zulu Watch, now is the time to try it on your wrist to see how it looks. This handsome watch, made exclusively for AOPA, is perfect for the cockpit but stylish enough for an evening out. It’s also a great way to show the world you’re a pilot.
Need a new flight bag? A visit to AOPA’s tent is a good time to check out the AOPA Flight Bag and zip, unzip, and examine all the pockets and pouches of this versatile bag. Fill it with all the inflight necessities you need, including a padded area for your headset. You’ll be a more organized pilot with your essentials organized in this bag.
Come see all these products during AirVenture. In addition to having first-class items to use and wear, remember that each purchase helps AOPA in its work to keep flying safe and fun—see you at Oshkosh! By the way, if commitments keep you from attending AirVenture this year, you can buy these products all year long at the AOPA Store online.
As the cold weather chills AOPA’s Headquarters in Frederick, many of us are inside generating new resources for flying clubs.
In my house, every Friday night is “Movie Night.” While the movies are rarely educational (I don’t think I learned anything from the Lego Movie), we look forward to the weekly opportunity to spend time together. Why not use the same concept for your Flying Club (with the addition of education, of course)?
AOPA Flying Club Manager Kelby Ferwerda posted the following on the AOPA Flying Club Facebook Page: “Recently I’ve talked with quite a few Flying Clubs about maintaining social activity through the cold winter months. Some clubs host Holliday Parties, others have Potluck Movie Nights. What does your club do to keep members involved during the chilly months?”
