Those attending AOPA Aviation Summit this year are in for an exciting new addition to the exhibit hall floor, the AOPA Learning Pavilion.
Attendees can choose from a variety of fast-paced 30-minute interactive educational sessions such as Aviation Pet Peeves, Q&A with Northeast ATC, Getting ATC's Help to Avoid Hazardous Weather, Essential Radio Communication, Women in Aviation History, Your Airport Community—How to Promote and Protect Your Airport and Your Freedom to Fly, and many more. Prospective pilots are encouraged to come test their skills on a Redbird flight simulator and pick up some information on learning to fly.
Don’t miss this exciting new feature! Make your way to the AOPA Learning Pavilion, aisle 1100, right on the exhibit hall floor. Find the full schedule and seminar descriptions online.
AOPA Aviation Summit takes place Sept. 22 through 24 in Hartford, Conn. Register before Aug. 22 to save up to 25 percent.
As the cold weather chills AOPA’s Headquarters in Frederick, many of us are inside generating new resources for flying clubs.
In my house, every Friday night is “Movie Night.” While the movies are rarely educational (I don’t think I learned anything from the Lego Movie), we look forward to the weekly opportunity to spend time together. Why not use the same concept for your Flying Club (with the addition of education, of course)?
AOPA Flying Club Manager Kelby Ferwerda posted the following on the AOPA Flying Club Facebook Page: “Recently I’ve talked with quite a few Flying Clubs about maintaining social activity through the cold winter months. Some clubs host Holliday Parties, others have Potluck Movie Nights. What does your club do to keep members involved during the chilly months?”
