Aviation conference to seek change

A new conference for aviation innovators will attempt to address a wide range of issues in the aviation industry, Aero-News Network Founder, CEO, and Editor in Chief Jim Campbell announced at EAA AirVenture July 25.

The two-day Aviation Transformation Conference (ATC 2012) is scheduled to take place in St. Louis, Mo., in March 2012. Kestrel Aircraft CEO Alan Klapmeier, Eclipse Aviation Founder Vern Raburn, and former AOPA President Phil Boyer, who spoke at the AirVenture press conference, are among the announced attendees.

Campbell said the conference is intended to define what ails aviation and encourages participants to “be brutally honest.” After the conference, an organization given the working name of “Foundation for Aviation Advocacy” will use online networking to collaborate and pursue solutions discussed at the conference, a press release explained.

Campbell said that he expects about 200 participants in the invitation-only event, and that those who wish to participate can simply contact him with their ideas for changing the industry.
