XOJET orders Hawker XPRs

Private aviation company XOJET, which offers charter services to more than 3,500 customers worldwide, announced that it has ordered 12 Hawker 800XPR business jets. The XPR, a re-engined and modified version of the venerable Hawker 800, comes with more fuel-efficient Honeywell TFE731-50R engines that give it better hot-and-high performance, expanded inspection intervals (6,000 hours versus the original TFE731-5BR engines’ 4,200 hours), and the ability to climb directly to FL410 in 25 minutes.

Prior to the Hawker 800XPR order, XOJET’s fleet consisted of Citation Xs and Challenger 300s. “The growth of our business demanded a third fleet type,” said XOJET CEO Brian LaCorte. “We looked at the available options and for aircraft that would match the unmet needs of our network, and the clear standout was the Hawker 800XPR.”

XOJET reported 40-percent year-over-year growth for the first half of 2011, that its first-half growth is ahead of expectations, and that that growth compares favorably to the 2-percent overall growth in the private aviation industry.

The 800XPR also includes Hawker-designed and manufactured winglets, avionics upgrades, and cabin interior refurbishment.
