Check out the AOPA merchandise available at the AOPA Store located in the exhibit hall at AOPA Aviation Summit. You’ve seen the AOPA products in the pages of Pilot—now you can see them in person.
It may be hot now, but cooler days are ahead, perfect for AOPA’s wind shirt. What’s a wind shirt? It’s a lightweight shirt, which is wind and water resistant. The shirt’s polyester shell allows 100 percent range of motion while the 100 percent nylon lining provides protection from the elements. It comes in khaki and navy—with sizes up to XXL.
Further prepare for autumn weather with AOPA’s Leading Edge Jacket. This jacket features a durable wind- and water-resistant exterior and a warm fleece interior, but remains lightweight and breathable. Of course, like all AOPA merchandise, you can show off the AOPA logo.
And then there are T-shirts: AOPA offers a long sleeve shirt that proudly declares “Flying is Freedom” and a short sleeve shirt with the AOPA logo. We even have Future Pilot T-shirts for your little ones that dream of becoming pilots. Your Summit trip is not complete without your 2011 AOPA Aviation Summit T-shirt!
If you’ve eyed the AOPA Zulu Watch, now is the time to try it on your wrist to see how it looks. This handsome watch, made exclusively for AOPA, is perfect for the cockpit but stylish enough for an evening out. It’s also a great way to show the world you’re a pilot.
Need a new flight bag? A visit to the AOPA Store at Summit is a good time to check out the AOPA Flight Bag, and zip and unzip and examine all the pockets and pouches of this versatile bag. Fill it with all the in-flight necessities you need, including a padded area for your headset. You’ll be a way more organized pilot with your essentials organized in this bag.
You also can get a head start on your holiday shopping by picking up the second in our line of commemorative holiday ornaments. The 2011 holiday ornament features an aircraft that embodies the spirit of aviation, a beautiful 1940 Waco. The Waco, offering its nostalgic glimpse of aviation times gone by, is a selection that is certain to inspire you to share your most cherished aviation memories.
See all these items in the AOPA Store at the 2011 AOPA Aviation Summit in Hartford, Conn., Sept. 22 through 24. In addition to having first-class items to use and wear, remember that each purchase helps AOPA in its work to keep flying safe. If commitments keep you from attending Summit this year, you can buy these products all year long at the AOPA Store online.
As the cold weather chills AOPA’s Headquarters in Frederick, many of us are inside generating new resources for flying clubs.
In my house, every Friday night is “Movie Night.” While the movies are rarely educational (I don’t think I learned anything from the Lego Movie), we look forward to the weekly opportunity to spend time together. Why not use the same concept for your Flying Club (with the addition of education, of course)?
AOPA Flying Club Manager Kelby Ferwerda posted the following on the AOPA Flying Club Facebook Page: “Recently I’ve talked with quite a few Flying Clubs about maintaining social activity through the cold winter months. Some clubs host Holliday Parties, others have Potluck Movie Nights. What does your club do to keep members involved during the chilly months?”
