Will you be attending the Republican National Convention Aug. 27 through 30 or the Democratic National Convention Sept. 4 through 6?
AOPA President Craig Fuller and the association’s government affairs team will be present at both conventions, organizing events to demonstrate the importance of aviation and the engagement of the general aviation community. The association would like to know about members who are attending so the attendees can join GA-friendly lawmakers and other political figures who affect issues important to pilots and the GA industry at convention events.
Association staff will use the Tampa, Fla., and Charlotte, N.C., conventions to help educate decision makers about the economic value of GA and its role in the transportation infrastructure. AOPA encourages those planning to attend one or both conventions to fill out a brief questionnaire with their information so that the association can contact them to be included in critical discussions of the future of GA.
The FAA will miss a deadline to reform aircraft certification by two years, the agency told the House Aviation Subcommittee during a July 23 hearing.
AOPA is testing whether aircraft ownership can be more affordable than many people believe with the development of “Reimagined Aircraft.”
Over the past several years, the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) developed its digital flight planning tools into a suite of products that put flight planning capability, airport directory information and aviation weather in pilots’ hands. AOPA partnered with Seattle Avionics to create FlyQ EFB, an electronic flight bag (EFB) iPad application, and FlyQ Pocket, a smartphone application.
