Joint venture to put Williams engines on Citations

Sierra Industries is joining forces with Clifford Development to develop and market Williams International FJ44 engine upgrades for the Cessna Citation business fleet. The new venture is known as NewJETz Aviation. The company says it is the only FAA-certified company approved to do that.

Sierra Industries already has supplemental type certificates for modifications to the Citation 500/501, 550, and S550 models. NewJETz has launched an engine retrofit program for the Citation V fleet. It will be called the “eVolution” modification featuring the FJ44-4 series turbofan, the most powerful model in the Williams lineup. It produces 3,600 pounds of thrust.

Sierra Industries has gained experience with the engine while developing the Hawker 400XPR engine retrofit for Hawker Beechcraft. That experience is expected to speed installation on the Cessna jets.

While marketing existing engine upgrades for Citation 500/501, 550, and S550 models, NewJETz plans to continue developing FJ44 engine upgrades for more recent Cessna Citation 550 and 560 models, such as the Citation V, Bravo, Ultra, and Encore series.
