The state of Missouri is asking visiting pilots and their passengers to fill out a survey as it begins work on a Statewide Airport Economic Impact Study. The report has been commissioned by the aviation section within the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) Multimodal Operations Division.
The visiting pilot/passenger survey is available through May 27, and can be found at FBO counters around the state or online.
“Economic impact is a critical factor in our efforts to protect airports,” said AOPA Central Southwest Regional Manager Yasmina Platt. “We encourage AOPA members who are either a flying resident of the state of Missouri or have flown to Missouri within the last year or so to complete the survey.”
The information collected will help estimate the economic benefits that each airport provides to Missouri’s economy. The survey has nine questions, and does not require submitting any personal information.
The results from the survey will help show the economic benefit of an airport, which is an important way to demonstrate airports’ vital, quantifiable role in state and local economies.
