Sporty’s Complete Instrument Training course, available in online and DVD formats, is now a dedicated app for iOS devices. Formatted specifically for the iPhone or iPad, the app includes 13 hours of real-world video and advanced graphics including 3-D animations to help explain difficult concepts, Sporty’s said.
The app includes a dedicated test preparation program for the knowledge test, as well as a flight training syllabus, an interactive maneuvers guide, and integrated practical test standards. The knowledge test prep program lets you use one of three modes: Learning to review specific areas of study, Test to provide a random mix of questions to simulate an exam, and Flashcard to answer questions without seeing choices in a self-graded environment.
The course sells for $199, which permits the user to keep it on both devices. A demo app is available as a free download. For more information or to purchase, see the website.

A House bill that would force FAA to go through the rulemaking process before imposing new policies for sleep disorders has passed a key committee.
The House has passed a bill requiring the TSA to consult stakeholders, including general aviation representatives, before making major changes to security policy.
AOPA thanks our members for their continued support in protecting the freedom to fly.
