Tecnam tease: A new LSA to be announced in April

New Tecnam LSA

The black-and-white photo is sharp, but Tecnam was careful to keep most of their newest creation under wraps in a March 20 announcement of the coming Astore, named in honor of the company’s first production design and timed for the company’s sixty-fifth anniversary.

There was no word on the performance of this new light sport aircraft, but Tecnam promised it will be comfortable, and include an iPad Mini as standard equipment. A WiFi-capable Levil G Mini will allow the display of primary flight instrumentation on the iPad Mini, and pre-installed software will include a dedicated weight and balance application, checklists, and the operating handbook. Buyers can choose between three Rotax engines: the 912ULS, the fuel-injected 912iS, or the turbocharged 914.

Tecnam said the Astore will be unveiled in detail at AERO 2013 Friedrichshafen, Germany, April 24 through 27.

“We have built our reputation at Tecnam on producing aeroplanes that offer outstanding value, beauty and efficiency,” said Tecnam Managing Director Paolo Pascale, in the news release.
