The AOPA Foundation has been offered a matching gift challenge grant from a longtime donor and Board of Visitors member Scott Schneider. If the foundation can raise $50,000 through its Hat in the Ring Society, he will match up to $50,000. To receive the full benefit of this generous challenge, the foundation needs to obtain new Hat in the Ring Society members by Dec. 31.
That means every new Hat in the Ring Society member's $1,000 gift will be worth double. This is too good an opportunity to pass up, knowing that the power of your support will be doubled with this exciting challenge. For that reason, the foundation is asking AOPA members to join this elite group with a tax-deductible gift of $1,000 or more. Quarterly payment options are available.
If you have any questions, or would like to take part in this challenge grant with a year-end tax-deductible gift, please send an email to AOPA Foundation Donor Relations Specialist Justin Biassou or call him directly at 301/695-2268.
The AOPA Foundation is asking the general aviation community to support its efforts by making donations on Dec. 3 as part of the second annual #GivingTuesday campaign.
A flight in a P-51 D Mustang, an unusual attitude course, and your airplane in the pages of AOPA Pilot magazine are among the items up for bid in the AOPA Foundation's annual online auction.
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) welcomed a Sept. 18 Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announcement that it would host a “call to action summit” to address the barriers and potential challenges associated with equipping tens of thousands of aircraft for Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) by the Jan. 1, 2020 deadline. ADS-B is a critical component of the NextGen air traffic modernization program.
