FREDERICK, Md. – The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) has a new, expanded  location at AirVenture this year, across from the historic brown arch that serves as the gateway to the airshow and fly-by action at Wittman Regional Airport (KOSH).

AOPA’s campus in 2014 will not only feature a central membership tent as in years past, but also a large yellow activity tent that will host safety seminars and fun gatherings, such as a Pilot Town Hall meeting with AOPA President Mark Baker,  product demonstrations, free morning coffee and donuts with President Baker, flying club gatherings and a Rusty Pilots seminar.

“As AOPA celebrates its 75th year we’re moving front and center at AirVenture,” said AOPA President Mark Baker. “We want to bring our member services, our terrific aviation safety and skills seminars and our community of pilots to everyone who visits. We’re excited about our new location and invite everyone to stop in several times during the week and enjoy AirVenture with us.”

Outside the tents, guests can look over the 1963 B33 Debonair AOPA Sweepstakes airplane that will be given away soon to a lucky member. And a special kids' area will feature a Disney Planes: Fire & Rescue activities center for future aviators.

New and renewing members can take advantage of current discounts and pick up a free AOPA hat. Visitors will receive a commemorative 75th year AOPA lapel pin.

Visitors can visit with AOPA staff regarding member services, Pilot Protection Services, aircraft insurance and finance and flight planning benefits.. In addition, visitors can have their picture put on the cover of AOPA Pilot magazine.

The full schedule of AOPA events may be found at AOPA at AirVenture .

AOPA’s new AirVenture location is at the intersection of Wittman Road and Waukau Ave. The AOPA campus will open each morning at 9 a.m. and close at 5 p.m. (On Sunday, Aug. 3 the tent will close at 4 p.m.)

The Experimental Aircraft Association’s annual AirVenture celebration in Oshkosh, Wisc., runs this year from July 28 to Aug. 3.
