Flying Aviation Expo in Palm Springs set for October

The skills, technologies, and products that will be familiar to the next generation of pilots will be in focus at the Flying Aviation Expo scheduled from Oct. 15 to 17 in Palm Springs, California.

Exhibitors at the trade show, expected to draw more than 5,000 pilots and aviation enthusiasts to the Palm Springs Convention Center, will range from recognized industry leaders to "a new group of world-class companies," the event’s organizers said in an announcement.

Pilots hoping to expand their flying horizons will have a variety of opportunities to advance their aviation learning, including visiting an expanded and improved Flying Proficiency Center, sponsored by Jeppesen.

Seminar topics at this year's expo will include surviving real-life fires and engine failures; upset training; "Stump the FAA Examiner"; iPads in the cockpit; flying with the Apple watch; automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast (ADS-B); single-pilot IFR; mountain flying; an accident anatomy, featuring the National Transportation Safety Board; and flying unmanned aerial vehicles.

Lifestyle topics such as pleasure flight destinations; new aircraft and technologies such as technically advanced cockpits, and electric aircraft and charts, also will be on the seminar schedule.
