Celebrate #GivingTuesday with AOPA Foundation

After flocking to stores for Black Friday sales or clicking on Cyber Monday’s digital deals, AOPA members are reminded that #GivingTuesday is Dec. 1 and the AOPA Foundation is an option for the charitable movement that started four years ago as a way to celebrate and encourage activities that support nonprofit organizations.

“Giving Tuesday is a great way for AOPA members to support the programs that ensure a bright future for general aviation,” said Stephanie Kenyon, vice president of the AOPA Foundation.

The AOPA Foundation supports multiple aviation initiatives including the new High School Aviation Initiative, which is strengthening aviation education programs nationwide, Rusty Pilots program, which has successfully brought back to aviation more than 25 percent of its pilot attendees, the Flying Club Network, with more than two dozen clubs in the works, and dozens of flight training scholarships.

“AOPA members who have made the AOPA Foundation their charity of choice know that their membership dues alone can’t sustain the important programs that protect our freedom to fly,” said Kenyon. “That’s why it’s so important that our members participate in drives like #GivingTuesday.”

The AOPA Foundation has been participating in #GivingTuesday since its inception. A #GivingTuesday YouTube video says everybody can be generous and “giving to a cause you care about can inspire millions of others to give as well.”
