Challenge: Double year-end donations to AOPA Foundation

If there is one thing that most pilots share, it is the love of a good challenge. Learning to fly presented you with new challenges, just as there are challenges with every new skill you master. The AOPA Foundation has another challenge for you.

Pilots thinking about making a 2015 year-end donation to the AOPA Foundation will find the reach of their efforts doubled thanks to the generosity of a fellow pilot and longtime AOPA Foundation supporter.

Bennett Dorrance, who shares the passion for flying and wants to support your commitment to protect the uniquely American freedom to fly, will donate $25,000 to the AOPA Foundation, but he is challenging his fellow AOPA members to match his donation with fully tax-deductible contributions of up to $25,000 made before Dec. 31. Your donation will be matched dollar for dollar by Bennett—giving the AOPA Foundation a great head start on achieving its goals for 2016.

The AOPA Foundation accomplished much during 2015, so let’s keep the momentum going. Thanks to generous donations from AOPA members, new AOPA Air Safety Institute programs have been created and put to use by nearly 200,000 pilots.

Pilot support has made possible the development and distribution of organizational tools to new and existing flying clubs; helped launch the association’s great new tradition of holding the ever-so-popular AOPA Regional Fly-Ins across the country; and made it possible to provide meaningful grants to humanitarian flying organizations.

You may have read about the Rusty Pilots program: It has made it easier for local flight schools to host free seminars designed to get lapsed pilots back in the air.

To be clear, these programs are not funded through regular AOPA member dues. Rather, they exist and succeed thanks to friends like you who are willing to go the extra mile to share your passion for aviation by donating to the AOPA Foundation.

If for those reasons—and for your own special reasons for wanting to keep aviation strong—it sounds like the perfect time to take action, please take the challenge and visit the AOPA Foundation website to learn how you can double your impact for aviation.
