Air Traffic Services - Changes for CVG and satellites, SDF, and LEX

Changes for CVG and satellites, SDF, and LEX

On October 27, 2005, Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky Airport is implementing new procedures in anticipation of its runway opening on December 22, 2005. The scope of the project is very large and impacts not only CVG arrivals and departures, but Louisville International, Lexington-Bluegrass, and CVG satellite arrivals as well. This is a brief explanation of the changes occurring at the different airports. We want to ensure that you are informed of the upcoming changes so appropriate routings can be filed and airborne reroutes are minimized.

If you have any questions, contact personnel for Indianapolis Center is located below.

Louisville and Lexington arrivals

Due to the modified CVG south departure routings, we have established new arrival routes into SDF and LEX, also effective October 27. The new arrival route for SDF is the RDSTN 1 (Redstone) STAR. The arrival is for those flights from the north that would normally have utilized the PONIE STAR. (The PONIE STAR will be notam'ed "Not Applicable" beginning October 27.) There are no changes to the DARBY STAR from the south.

We have established a STAR into LEX from the north and west. This new route is the CLEGG 1 STAR. (The IIU Transition of the CLEGG STAR will be notam'ed not applicable.) Arrivals from the west should file IIU HYK LEX.

We are requesting you file the applicable routes beginning October 27. If you have any questions from now until October 26, please contact either Mike Wehrman at 317/247-2302 (w) or 859/866-3568 (c) or Joye Jobe-Hamilton at 317/247-2485.
