Yesterday, on a Part 135 charter flight, I chose to land at 1H0 instead of Lambert and am glad I did. I saved a lot of vectoring, taxiing, $2.70/gallon on 100LL, and $94.50 in fees. The rental car was there waiting for the passengers, and they got to and from their meeting in Overland with no problems. It was a beautiful, sunny day-great flying weather-but traffic was light and orderly. The line man met us at the pumps, provided full service for the self serve price, towed the plane to a parking spot, and chocked the plane, all very professionally done. I was there almost 3.5 hours. The locals were friendly, and the FBO staff were great-answered all my questions, and sugested I may want to kill some time looking at the fantastic antique airplane museum they have on field. That alone is worth the visit. I had read the above comments, but I had a great experience. I would definitely go back and will recommend Creve Coeur Airport to my friends.

I have been a pilot over 50 years (6000hrs) and have visited a wide variety of airports from DCA (before 9/11), SFC, as well as many small fascinating airport in remote places. All have left me with delightful memories. So in some of the same spirit of adventure I chose to visit and park a few nights at St. Louis's Creve Cours (1H0) airport. The first heads up I got that this would not be one of my top picks was the cavalier attitude and behavior of a Cessna pilot that made a straight in approach when another pilot offered that with the other traffic in the pattern at the time, this was not a good idea. The Cessna pilot made a quip and haha and proceed in anyway. We extended our base leg to give way as we were in a Mooney, We were unable to get e response as to the Cessna intentions on the runway, i.e., full stop, Touch/Go or what? No answer. On the ground events did not get better, We could not get assistance from the FBO with parking and the offending Cessna was blocking three spots in the taxiway, and we were left to take the first place that we could find elsewhere. Once inside the FBO office, it was obvious a group of local pilots were having a luncheon in the waiting area. Our presence was not welcome. Earlier one of the men had deliberately required my wife (herself an instrument rated pilot with 3,000 hrs) to step aside as he rode a four wheeler where she was pulling one of our suitcases. The sexist signs on the restroom door and walls spoke to a time that should have been passed years ago. I was embarrassed for our gender. I doubt the feedback will serve the purpose that I would hope it would but to any who might think as I did to give this general aviation airport off the beaten path a chance at my business, think again, Creve Coeur does not want outsiders dropping in. With what I suspect are only a few with cavalier flying attitudes, safety is still an issue for me. Flying by the rules is always good policy and those who don't think so are a threat to our safety,(no joke!)
