Unfriendly to the point of bizarre. Landed here after researching online and checking NOTAMs, but no information was listed regarding lack of taxiways (so you'll need to backtaxi) or no obvious location for transient parking. (Park in the grass on the north end, I know now.) But not knowing these things, I land. On approach I see a Cub departing. No radio calls (yes, I know Cubs don't require radios, but a handheld is cheap safety equipment.) On landing, it's obvious there is no taxiway so I'll have to backtaxi. OK, no problem. I make the radio call. I also can't figure out where to park the airplane as this is also not obvious. Taxied to side of runway to ask a guy where to park....north end. About this time the Cub comes around, as he's doing touch-and-gos unbeknownst to me. He has to go around because I'm still on the runway. Hey, sorry, I'm trying to get off the runway as fast as I can! It's not like the guy nearly hit me, he just did a low pass at about 100 feet. So I taxi to the north end and shut down, and 2 residents drive up in a golf cart. Without introducing themselves, they start haranging me about making the cub go around. An apology just wasn't good enough. They kept going on and on about it. Then they started interrogating me about, "What are you doing here?" It seemed such an odd question. I'm thinking to myself, "I'm sitting in my airplane that just landed. What does it look like?" But outside I'm all deferential. "I'm a tourist, I'm just going to stay for a couple of days." "This is a small residential airpark. We like to know what's going on around here." "Well, like I said....". Then they wouldn't leave. Just sat there in the golf cart staring at me. "This is a public use airport, correct?", I finally ask in exasperation. "Yes, but we want to know what you're doing here." "Like I said twice before...". It went on like this for a couple of minutes and they wouldn't leave me be. Finally I just picked up a magazine and started reading it in the cockpit, ignoring them while I waited for my ride to show. (By the way, there's a gate from the road that requires a code to get on the airport property....I don't know what this code is and they didn't offer to tell me!) They eventually left without a faretheewell. When I returned 3 days later I half expected my airplane to be up on blocks and stripped to the frame. This whole experience was so bizarre and unprecedented in my 12 years/1200 hours of general aviation, I hesitate to write this guys off as kooks, but for the life of me I can't understand why I was was given such a hard time. Maybe they don't want transients there, in which case they are probably happy that I'm writing this deprecatory comment.
