I used DC Metro on 2/24/13. I had made a reservation the night before and upon arrival, a lineman directed the aircraft to a transient parking spot. They handed me the keys to the crew car I had requested and I ordered fuel (telling the lineman and the office attendant). When I returned, however the plane was not fueled and this delayed my departure. I have to say though that they were otherwise nice and helpful. The ramp fee was waived with the fuel purchase. I would come back again.

4/21/12 - Used DC Metro. I called the day prior to set up arrival time parking, fuel and ask questions. When I landed a line service rep in a cart directed me to parking where I shut down. I asked about a tie down for 3 nights and fuel. He coordinated with ops and said I should follow him to a tie down and he'd help secure the plane and fuel it as well so I started up and taxied to a spot close to their facility (Triangular shaped building). After helping us tie up the plane he got the fuel truck and had the plane refueled before we were done unloading bags and installing the control lock. The departure day was just as smooth. I didn't need to use their flight planning facilities so cannot comment on those. I asked the ops attendant if she had change for a $10 so I could get some water out of the vending machine when they brought me a bottle of water for myself and 2 passengers. All in all a good experience, nice facility and friendly. Fuel prices are higher than surrounding airports but if you need to get into the DC area it is convenient. L. Owsowitz

I arrived at KGAI shortly before the FBO closes at 6pm. DC Metro Aviation has replaced Montgomery Aviation and seem eager to help new pilots. However when trying to contact them on the UNICOM, it took them precious hobbs minutes to get back to me and dispatch someone (a fuel truck) to show me to the tie-downs for an overnight. It was $10 a night which is almost same as transient parking ($9). They have a restaurant on the field right next to FBO and the pilot lounge is in the same room as the AWOS equipment it seems, which I thought was pretty cool (had the latest and greatest weather data :-) Will definitely come back, but make sure to call FBO ahead of arrival.

11/5/2010 Jessica at the FBO was very friendly & helpful in putting together a cab and a rental car for us. Line staff were very friendly as well & offerred to plug in my preheater on my Archer. Shady Grove Metro Stop is a 5 minute cab ride at $15. Think this is my new jumping off point for DC now from my base in NJ. Manasas was a pain to get too and Freeway was is not set up for visitors. Was worried about previous comments; but took a chance and found the FBO to be up to local standards. Art. N181LS N87
