What a great place. The new FBO people are top notch. One of my favorite destinations. The old $100.00 hamburger has now been replaced by the $200.00 Oyster trip. On the last visit, the crew car was taken so they drove me to Boss Oyster in a personal vehicle. N312A

Stopped in for fuel heading to Fla. New FBO operator is in and redoing the FBO. Crew car available for ten minute ride into town for food - they say the food is great Nicest people.

mr severance, apologies for the tardy response. i fly in and out reasonably regularly and had heard the story , so i went to a meeting of the airport board and asked the question, that's all i can say on the issue as I was not present in person. anyway it is worth getting fuel this weekend as the fuel truck was driven by this spectacular english blond female, worth the extra cost over the self service price!!!!!!!!

I was departing the same morning that the issues where found related to several aircraft on the field and saw s.severance discussing the issue and waiting to get his cover returned to him. Thankfully I was on the opposite end of the flight line and did not have an issue. I fly to AAF regularly and have been for more than 5 years I was sad to see the prior operators leave and was engaged in the transition , including leveraging our AOPA airport advocate, to insure the vehicle that I keep on preemies and aircraft where secure. While initially concerned, I have been impressed with the counties effort to get services back on the field. I returned for a week prior to Memorial Day. I was greeted and treated with courtesy and professionalism. They are remodeling the FBO and fuel was available. The ramp was busy including the usual jets. My plane was on the ramp without incident for a week and my vehicle is kept on premises again. From what I have seen I would not hesitate to visit AAF. If that changes I'll be happy to report back.

Mr. Cooper, I assure you it happened as I witnessed the damage and am still in the process of repairing the damage to my cover. As for no one knowing anything, that would make perfect sense since the FBO changed hands and present management was not in attendance at the time. I do not know if the Sheriff was ever contacted at the time. What is your connection with the airport sir?

I was there this week and no one knows anything about the supposed damage to planes and neither does the sheriff, so I would take this report with a grain of salt. The airport is now open with security., Fuel both Avgas and Jet is available with credit card, self serve will be a week . The county have taken over management and the airport will be open 7 am-7pm although the manger tells me that fuel will be available at any hour with a phone call to him.

I flew in on Friday 4/27/12 to spend a weekend with relatives and tied the plane down after discovering there was no fuel and the FBO was closing on 4/30. According to staff, they lost their lease and there was no plan in place to provide for service after they leave. When I returned Sunday morning, my cover had been removed both a 182 and a Cirrus had been broken into next to me. Thankfully, the staff found my cover laying on the ground and kept it for me, there was nothing missing from my aircraft. I would advise anyone visiting the field to check for available services and be very careful should you decide to tie down for the night. It might be wise to go elsewhere...
