We made a trip to KAOO for Wednesday Pot Pie and discovered the airport restaurant was closed and has reduced their hours now to part time, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. Don't know the hours, call first. However, not all was lost, the awesome DeGol line service recommended a nearby Amish Restaurant ( Traditions) as the place to go and also offered their courtesy car (1-1/2 miles). Great restaurant, best of all - spotless clean and good food too . . . we'll be back!! www.traditionsweb.com No landing or parking fees for single engine aircraft. The airspace is now covered by JST Radar, all the controllers are great, they all talk like normal people and no arrogance, imagine that!! AOO is a really good place to practice instrument approaches. Cessna T206 N62048.

I talked to the airport manager yesterday..no landing fees imposed on single engineaircraft...FBO was friendly and food/service was excellent..J. Donkus, N94

I have flown into AOO many times and haven't yet been charged $60. I am a private pilot with a light single. Paid $6.50/night tie-down, first night waived for fuel purchase.

New FBO. Landing fee $30. Ramp fee $30. Both waived with fuel purchase >30 gallons.

FBO at Altoona is now DeGol Jet Center. They are now located at the north end of the field (where the FBO was a few years back).

Very professional and friendly staff. Prompt help parking. Food available in main terminal with only a short walk from the FBO, either for sit down or take out (take out sandwiches were well made). Runway and Twy's in very good condition. Low cost 100LL.
