I approached APC from the east with vectors from atc. I can out of the clouds and was lined up with 36L. I was given instructions to circle to land left traffic 24 while keeping clear of the north and east. I didn't follow these instruction very well as I ventured on to the east side of rw 24 and make right traffic 24. Tower didn't care for this to much and i understand why. It was my first time into Napa and while I had the airport in sight the entire time in the circle the execution was lacking. Remember to read the plat carefully and expect a circle to land when using the loc 36L approach. Other then that Bridgeford treated me great and I will be back.
