While not familiar with the landing fees as I train here, I love this airport and the friendly staff at each FBO. While I root a little more for ThreeWing, each has treated me well. The access to highways and waterways is pretty neat for this historical airport and it's not far from the city while outside of the Class B. Block Island is 35 minutes away in a Cherokee, the northeast skiing is less than a couple hours. Lots of history here, hopefully the city gets wise and fixes the landing fee issue to drive some tourism!

Flew in to Bridgeport last week with concern after reading all the negative reviews from other members, I chose Three Wings FBO and was met with freindly service and a helpful staff. The Tower was very helpful making my arrival and departure a breeze. 35 knot gusts added to the adventure and Frankee-sue of Three Wings promptly tied down my airplane. Fuel pricing was comptitive with my home base in Lancaster, PA, so I don't have any but great things to say about my experience. Thanks Three Wings. I'll be back.

Wow - Bridgeport has really gone down hill in both physical plant and in service. The tower was arrogant - there were so many problems in their taxi instructions it is hard to know where to start. The 'departure' fee is not listed anywhere - at the FBO's or on line, so who knows if the bill I received is correct. (AOPA website doesn't list the amount of the fee.) And the fee is really high for an airport that size! Next time I'll stop at New Haven or Oxford.

Due to cheesy fee collection via Vector - I'll be taking my business elsewhere - BDR is on my "no fly" list.

Sadly my comments echo everyone else. The Airport Manager is cluless and really believes that Vector is good for the airport. I made it very clear that I would not be returning to BDR and will meet my clients in New Haven. It's not the $7 but the arrognace!

Another horror story... Vector Airport Solution charges $7 for the fee, $5 for the convenience of actually paying! They sent the original invoice to the previous owner FROM 6 YEARS AGO! Fortunately he forwarded this on. When I called, they told me they have no way to check for current owner info, so send out and just hope the person who gets this calls them with the correct updated info after they have sold the plane. Oh, but they have no problem charging 10% PER MONTH when you don't promptly pay. What a P.O.S. operation this is! I will not go there again!

I also received a bill for a $15 landing fee, in addition to the $10 tiedown fee, in addtion to the fuel purchased. The airport/city is clearly more interested in shaking down visitors than encouraging business.

the straw that breaks the camel's back - I received a landing fee charge of $7 today from the company that collects for the City of Bridgeport, so now its up to $22 to visit BDR. As they say, I'm voting with my feet - there's no logical reason to patronize any business or anything else within the city

Stay away from BDR Airport mgt is intent on chasing away ga! I have sent many E mails and the reply is always I have to answer to the tax payers, but they can hire an outside company to bill landing fees and more outside labor to install and maintain camera systems, this doesn't sound like they want to encourage the use of the airport or the fbo's there

KBDR is now enforcing their landing fee policy for all aircraft that touch the pavement, except those piloted by solo students on a cross-country flight and resident aircraft. As of 9/18/2011 the fee was $7.00 for a Cessna 172. The landing fee is charged per visit, not per landing - so a set of touch/go landings would only accrue one fee. Students, CFIs and pilots beware: avoid KBDR if you don't want to get a bill for a landing fee in the mail.

Volo Aviation charges a $15 fee if you pull up to their FBO unless you top off your tanks at their pump - the receptionist was very apologetic....
