First time to use this forum. been an AOPA member for over 13 years and find tremendous benefits. Regarding Atlantic East FBO, i flew in 10 -19-2012 and was greeted with the nicest line guy, then went inside to be greeted and taken care of by "Lil", Lillian, the nicest lady i ever met.. she treated us so special, we needed it because were enroute to UAB hospital for serious surgery ( Cancer) for my wifes sister. The service we got caused me not to notice the fuel price. N23LA

Very nice folks at Atlantic East and helpful with getting the hotel curtesy van and unloading the aircraft. Nice facility but no area to walk our dogs. We would have taken the 15 gallons at $7.09 instead of paying the $40 overnight fee but it would have put us overweight. 15 x 7.09=$106.35 then minus 40 and devide by 15 gives $4.42 a gallon. I minus the $40 as a sunk cost of being there overnight.

Fuel is very expensive, I also paid $7.09 on two trips I made to BHM in October. The staff are friendly enough but the price gouging leaves a really bitter taste. Fuel prices are over $2.00 a gallon higher than fuel I pay in most airports in the mid-south. My recommendation - don't stop in Birmingham. If you have to stop; don't buy gas and don't stay overnight.

I paid $7.09 per gallon on 10/02/2011, on the east side. Highest price fuel around.Personal was very nice...Buy your fuel elsewhere..15 gallon min.otherwise you will also pay $40.00, overnight, for single engine overnight.parking...plus $5.00 security fee..Staff members are friendly.

Great experience with Atlantic East. Very friendly and helpful. Courtesy car available along with very accurate directions. Will definitely vist Atlantic East again.

I paid $6.99 a gallon full service at the West side FBO, plus paid a nominal security fee for parking over night. (For future reference that is $1.70 higher than the going rate for 100LL four other FBOs I stopped at that week. In short, don't buy fuel there.

After reading previous comments regarding the FBO, we were reluctant to go to BHM. Called ahead 10/16/10 to see if these people were really this bad! Lil took our call and soon thereafter felt assured that we would not have to mortgage the plane just to pay outrages fees. Our visit today was excellent. Lil and the line guys were outstanding and very professional. We were made to feel at home and there were no suprises. Their fuel prices (100LL) are very high. We will return. WOW... what a wonderful experience I had! They brought my rental car plane side, unloaded my plane for me while and helped me cover it. I went inside to fill out paperwork and was greeted by a very friendly young lady who helped with directions to my destination in town. Upon my return a couple of days later, they had kindly pulled the aircraft into a hanger "so it wouldn't be so hot for you" and helped me with loading and getting ready to go! I was hesitant to try this FBO based on the comment from 5/2007 -- but I was positively overwhelmed with the good customer service and friendliness of ALL the staff members I was in contact with! Would definitely recommend this FBO.
