Excellent help from tower and ground, they do a great job. Annias restaurant was delicious. Yeah, watch out for those birds, gulls the size of Cessnas! KEMT is a great destination, really a cool kind of old style LA airport which I wish there were more of. Often times old planes, new planes, and even some cars and trucks on display there Sundays.

I visited EMT yesterday and my experience was awesome! First off, I had some trouble seeing the airport while coming in from the north and ATC was very forgiving. I appreciate this very much being a new pilot therenis nothing worse than struggling to find the airport and getting an annoyed controller on the radio. So, thanks EMT ATC. Second, the service and friendly support at LA Flight Center was bar none. If more FBOs operated the way they did by putting the customer first then GA would have more happy pilots.

I highly recommend LA Flight Center. They were excellent this past weekend. I had a low battery and needed a jump (28V). They were there in less than 10 minutes from the time of my call and I was on my way. THey were extremely helpful and it cost me less than I paid for lunch that day. Hats off to these guys...they did great!

I flew in to EMT recently, and they offered free overnight parking with fuel purchase. Fuel is reasonable there, and the new terminal is clean and nice.

I think everybody must stop negative talk about the accent of newly welcomed student pilots,the fact is that if you go to any where on earth you will be short of any laguage to use but English.Don't forget every body is one step ahead of those who just are proud of speaking English and only English.It is not civilized nor American to be too harsh,thank you,

The runway/taxiways were upgraded to current FAA standards in July 2010 and you can no longer turn off the active anywhere you want. Runway was slurry coated Oct 2010. The airport is hard to find if you don't know where to look, but ATC is very helpful and will guide you in if you simply call in soon enough and ask. Be aware that the glideslope on the PAPI is steeper than "normal". Noise abatement procedures are in effect, and ATC will be happy to tell you where you need to fly to comply. There have been a lot of changes since my first flight out of EMT in 1966, but it is still a great home base in the L A area, and many times when BUR and VNY have gusty winds EMT is basically calm. Come visit us, but be aware that Annia's closes at 3 PM on sundays.

very hard to find. killer birds. too many foreigners with thiiiiiiick accents, even one of the controllers.
