Flew in for a few days (Seaplane rating at Jack Brown's and some time in the Stearman with Tim Preston). This is a fantastic airport with great people. Debbie the airport manager is friendly and provided me with great assistance during my stay. Self Service Fuel is priced competitively. A great place to stay in Central Florida, the closest airport to Fantasy of Flight.

Was at Preston Aviation last weekend for J3 Cub and PT17 transition. If you want to get checked out or just go on a sight seeing tour from the air I HIGHLY recommend you contact Tim and Peggy at Preston Aviation. Hova FBO have great fuel prices and their staff is very helpful. Pappy's Grill is clean with friendly staff and I can't wait for my next hamburger from there, Excellent $100 hamburgers. Sometimes the pattern gets busy but that is a great sign GA is alive and well in the KGIF area.

Small group (9 in 5 planes) from Venice, referred to as the VNC Lunch Bunch arrived at GIF yesterday (4/5/2012) for lunch. Warm friendly FBO, restaurant was clean, service was excellent and food was great. We certainly put this on our list of good places to go. GIF is a super scenic airport from the air. Flew into HOVA Flight Services for the weekend. Very busy airport with lots of flight training taking place. Paul took great care of us and even helped us keep track of our kids as we unloaded and loaded the plane. Could not have asked for better service and the facilities were FANTASTIC! Fuel was extremely cheap to at $4.65/gal. We will definitely be returning!

Flew in to get fuel at HOVA. Pattern was very busy on a nice Wed. morning. People were very nice. Richard's Fine Coffee is no longer there. It has been replaced by Pappy's Grille, open 7 days per week serving breakfast and lunch. The breakfast was good and cheap, plus you get $0.30 off per gallon on fuel (full service) if you eat there. I recommend stopping.

Learned to fly at Tailwheels Etc. Good experiences there. The pattern can get a little busy at times but on the whole not a bad airport. Check out Richards Fine Coffees and Deli at the new FBO for some decent snacks.

I came in to get MOGAS which is not available at all airports. I go to the New Terminal and find out I have to taxi across two runways to the other side of the airport to get MOGAS. I taxi over, followed by the fuel truck (which only has AVGAS), to the MOGAS tank, which is locked, (and is next to the self serve AVGAS pump) and get MOGAS, pumped by the fuel truck driver. I go to pay and whoops, I have to taxi back across 2 runways to the other side of the airport to the New FBO to pay for the gas.
