I wanted to leave a follow up post concerning my earlier comments about Greenville Jet Center. Angel Flight contacted Greenville Jet Center and spoke with Tracy, the manager. Tracy agreed to refund the other pilot the $75.00 fee and post a notice at the fuel desk notifiying all personell that all fees for Angel Flights are to be waived in the future. Kudos to Tracy!!

I flew into KGMU to pick up patients for an Angel Flight, meeting another pilot there. I had to puchase fuel so I didn't have any issues but the other pilot didn't need any fuel and he was charged a $75.00 ramp fee by Greenville Jet Center. We tried to get them to waive the fee but they refused. It a shame that this FBO can't waive the fee since it doesn't cost them anything and in light of the fact that as the Angel Flight pilots we are paying all expenses associated with the flight ourselves. Unless Greenville Jet Center changes it's policy I don't intend to return and have notified Angel Flight as well. Shame on you Greenville Jet Center!!!!

My wife and I flew in to visit the on field restaurant Runway Cafe for the first time this weekend and we were struck by the how the environment promotes the benefits and freedom of general aviation. We pulled up and tied down right in front of the restaurant. We were especially impressed by how many kids were there getting exposed to aviation in a way I have not seen in a very long time in this overly "TSA'd" world. You can eat outside on the patio and there is an adjacent large fenced in area for kids to play and a terraced area of steps that you sit down and enjoy watching the aircraft land and takeoff up close and personal. It was a beautiful sunny 55 degree January day and the place was slammed! The menu was extensive and the food great. I highly recommend the Runway Cafe to anyone.

Went for lunch to the Runway Cafe last Sunday, good food and 20% off for fly-ins make it a great place to visit.

Haven't eaten there yet but the Runway Cafe at the South Ramp opened in Sept 2010. Looks like a good place to fly in to eat. Folks at the FBO are always nice.
