Aero Centex is a hidden jewel. These folks understand the needs of their customers. Parking was free for my Mooney and everyone I came in contact with went out of their way to make sure I was taken care of down to the smallest detail. Wade, Marie and Connie are quite possibly the best in the country at what they do. When I arrived the lineman was busy so Connie came out and chocked my plane. You just don't see that attitude and service often enough. Aero Centex is my destination whenever i am in the area. Thank you Aero Centex! Harry Moore N714VW

So why were you flying 130kts on final? Sounds way to fast, even for higher powered A/C.

Yesterday one of my sons had a concert in North Austin. It was a last minute decision to attend so Georgetown was the airport of choice. I called Aero Centex and was greeted by Wade. I asked if the courtesy car was available and how late he would be there since it would be 7:30 before I arrived. I don't know what the business hours are there but Wade met us and led us off the ramp to Aero Centex. The FBO facility is beautiful and the courtesy extended to my family was beyond the extra mile. The car was ready, running and the a/c was cool. We were on our way is short time. Wade refueled my airplane and when we returned we were ready to go. KGTU is a nice airport and if Aero Centex and Wade are greeting you, it will be nice for many years to come. I will be back.

I am doing my training for my PPL here at Pilot's Choice. Tower is great. Simple layout. All runways have RNAV approaches and 18 has an NDB approach. Controllers are great. Often its just one person handling everything. My last flight I was in an Archer and my instructors mic failed for use on the radio. Still worked on the intercom though. We switch off on radio duty and he was doing it at that moment. We were doing touch and goes and he was reading back our clearance for touch and go but the controller could not hear him. We ended up having to go missed approach on that one because everyone was confused. After that I took over and called up the tower and told them that we had a microphone failure in the right seat and that we wanted a full-stop. We were immediate cleared for a full stop on 18. First time Ive ever been cleared to land on my up-wind leg with other traffic in the pattern. When we landed they just told us we could go where ever we needed via taxiway alpha. I still had my mic so I just told him we were going to Pilot's Choice. Great controller. I love this airport and like that is it relatively close to AUS so I can get some class C experience. Flew there once and tower had me doing over 130 knots on final! But i have been flying at GTU for years way before it was controlled.
