I am based here. It is a nice airport and the facilities are nice too. Apparently they are going to have "specials" on fuel. So, although Self Serve was on Airnav etc. as $6.10, HEG actually had a special of $5.50 for Self Serve. It ends today. I spoke with the desk and they said they will probably be running the special once in a while, so you may want to call ahead and ask.

Nice FBO facility, recently built. Very accommodating staff, and the FBO maintains the many-decades tradition of offering a pool room for pilots and visitors inbetween flights. Both KNIP (NAS Jax) and KVQQ (Cecil Field) controllers are very accommodating in working with traffic arriving/departing KHEG. This airport is 15 mins from downtown Jacksonville yet looks and feels more like a rural 'country airport', offering open spaces and light traffic rather than the high traffic volume & suburban congestion adjacent to KCRG (Craig Field). Contrary to the description below, 200+ a/c are now based at KHEG.
