I've been a local at Sundance over the last 15 years and unfortunately thought HSD was just another example of a GA airport in decay as many are today. Thankfully this isn't the story here any more. New owner Jerry Hunter is passionate about Sundance and has the vision, talent and $$ to get things done and is driving a myriad of impressive new improvements. Among those are brand new hangars, a fully rebuilt FBO with restaurant, new updated 24 hour self serve fueling, taxiway/ramp repairs and upgrades, airport lighting and VASI upgrades and fixes, and more. There's a new website where you can get a snap shot of what's in the works: www.sundanceairport,com FBO office hours are now 6a-8p every day and self serve (cheap) fuel is 24/7. The price today is $4.49.

New changes to come to this airport. For many years this airport has just stayed the same as it's 1970's decor in the lobby. There is a new owner who is passionate about aviation and building this business. The new development plans in the lobby are amazing. Not only are they plans, but construction has started already. State of the art FBO facility and restaurant on the field are in the plans. I have always enjoyed the fuel station at this airport and further upgrades are on the way. But most of all, there has been a 300% improvement in customer service. Always greeted at the door and the staff is happy to serve. Looking forward to the finished product, but already this is a great airport to visit.

Excellent service. We borrowed the courtesy car for a local medical appointment. When that ran over expected time, forcing a return after the agreed time (closing time, 6PM), Doug very generously arranged for us to leave the car after hours, removing significant stress for me.
